Good morning! Over the next three days, Kari, Traci, Zee and I will be taking the California bar exam. As soon as this is behind us, I'm heading off to Cozumel to go diving, and I have just purchased this Mares BC. As you can see, it's great for travel because it folds up into the size of a handbag, and it even has a handle so you can carry it easily. It's full back inflation, and I've never used one like it before. People say it takes some getting used to - so I ask you - have you ever used a back inflation BC? Have you ever gone diving in Cozumel? Any dive site recommendations?

If you're going to Cozumel and your an advanced diver, Devil's Throat is a must dive. I also really enjoyed the wreck of the Felipe Xicotencatl C-53. I have some video's of the wreck on my website if your interested.
My current BC inflates on the back. Previously, I used a front inflating Scuba Pro. The first few dives with my current BC was weird at first, but it didn't take me very long to get used to it.
Good luck on the Bar exam - this world needs more lawyers!

I dive a back inflation BC, a Dive Rite with a plate, and I love it, will never go back to the jacket type BC's. It does take a bit of getting used to, they tend to make you lean forward while on the surface, but once you get used to balancing it's no big deal. Underwater, you'll dig it, since all the air is on your back your buoyancy is a lot better, and the thing is just much more comfortable.
Enjoy Cozumel, I have a friend that actually moved down there, she enjoyed diving so much, actually have a few friends down there if you want a bit of local diving experience. I'm off to Fiji in two days, for my own dive adventure!
